Sometimes requests get posted and long forgotten. Today I come to you with a triumph.
Back in 2013, on my birthday, I made a post requesting to see a wider variation of weapon technologies. Academy had only ARs in it, and generally I remember hearing of reviews from Youtubers and IGN (and/or Gamespot?) criticizing the game for lack of variation in weapons. Send an alt into Academy and that would have solidified the idea.
(Granted those reviews played a total of 2 hours total. Combined. And that's being generous.)
However, I thought the day wouldn't come when I would finally see Militia items come back on the marketplace. I was doing a search for another thread and completely forgot about my request when I stumbled on it.
And so: I would like to thank CCP Rattati and CCP Logibro for the best belated birthday present to improve the New Player Experience. I will now selfishly and arrogantly claim that the new militia items were my idea entirely with an old thread to prove it.
Some final notes: if you look you will notice an absence of two assault rifles belonging to Caldari and Minmatar. That's because the Rail Rifle and the Combat Rifle didn't exist in the live version of the game at that time. If I recall correctly, they were mentioned in Dev Blogs and/or in development at that time. Same thing for the Bolt and Ion pistols and the Magsec SMG.
Militia Grenades were things I was sketchy on, and decided it would be best to have them as yellow items on BPOs. I was also sketchy on them because at that time, grenade count was 3, with militia being 2. After the grenade carry count nerf, I am now in a favorable position to see them arrive on the marketplace and/or be yellow items on Starter Fits.
Militia Vehicle Ground Boost! I believe we got that some time ago, and I thought I was weird that, like the post says, an Afterburner exists, but not one for ground vehicles?
Sadly, Shield Transfer and Remote Armor Repair would be removed in the tank rebalancing patch (I think it was 1.7, I know Atiim will come in here and confirm it or bash me over the head. I'm not a tanker, lol). At the time I was wanting to get those modules as well as the Logistics Dropship. The moment I got enough skillpoints for it would be the moment 1.7 dropped and the LDS, LLAV, and many of the vehicles were removed for "rebalancing".
Still want to see the Militia Large Missile Turret. Nerf it however you want for it to be a "Militia" item instead of a "Standard" item. That skill path is too ridiculous.
Militia Logistics Frame Suit. Sadly, I know now that I will never see this implemented. Much like the Large Missile Turret though not quite as big of a margin, the Logistics suit takes a while to get to as a Newberry wanting to be a NewBro. The suits would not get any bonuses from skills (so treated as frames), but would have similar attributes to the Logistics suits of similar race. For instance, a Militia Minmatar Logistics Frame would have 1 Light Weapon slot, no sidearm, and 3 equipement slots. However, the PG and CPU would be less than that of a regular Logistics M-1 as well as slightly less total high and low slots for the suit, much like the Militia Medium Frames do for their respective Regular Frame and Assault Frame counterparts. But anyways, I digress.
I don't always suggest ideas, but when I do, they get implemented.
